Congratulations to Hastings Pier who have won the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize. Roger Haydock, a division of Illingworth Ingham (M/cr) Ltd were part of this prestigious project as we were chosen to supply the Ekki used to create the joists for the Pier.
Ekki is a tropical hardwood which is sourced from the rainforests and swamps of West Africa. Ekki was chosen for Hastings Pier as it is suited to heavy construction and is commonly used for bridges, boatbuilding, marine applications, decking and flooring.
